I play the aussie racing and often there isn't much liquidity (hopefully that'll change soon with one of the states - Tassie - looking at granting Betfair a license) so my problem is that there is often a pretty big gap between the lay price and the bet price. The override odds feature is good in that i can put a price in next to the bet price (or match it) but it only does it for the Stake defined rather than to secure a set profit.

So what i'm after is the ability to not only override the odds but to automatically calculate the stake required to make a set profit at those odds as well.

It's annoying setting up what would be a nice trading position and miss out because of the gap in the prices.

Hope this makes sense and isn't too much to ask - maybe there is another way to do it that i could be using???

What you are wanting to do is to order a bet when its certain of winning. I doesn't happen. You get the best available price at the time

They backed a selection only to find it had not only bet on the wrong selection it also layed it instead of backing it. Has anybody else experienced this? If you have then please let me know. They also report that when you click on the 2nd lay column it asks you for your lay stake as if you have clicked on that column instead. Please be careful. It's probably best not to use it in running unless you are confident it's working.
