Guess what the one race i need to place a bet on Hamilton 14:25 is showing no prices! The only race that is not showing any prices!

I am now having to use a calculator and use the main Betfair site because there are prices for Hamilton 14:25 on the Betfair site but not on this software! What is this all about!

I suspect this is a knock on effect from this morning's maintenance, we will investigate.

Mark

Something wrong with Betfair's stream API. See viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9881

Betfair have removed the duplicate data causing the problem so no need to install the new version at the moment although it will prevent the issue in the future.

No data showing in the 11.55 at Turffontein so obviously Betfair haven't fixed all of it.

I have to say as a new user of this product my confidence in it has been shaken somewhat. Betting Assitant was highly recommended to me by a friend but today has left me questioning if i have purchased the right product.

As i understand it i was using the latest version. Is there a version that is 100% rock solid reliable?

Thank you.

I think your timing is unfortunate. I've been using it for several years and it has always worked a charm. I certainly think it is the best value for money option in the market. The problems recently have been caused by the move to streaming. There have been a lot of teething issues hence the numerous Beta versions. I believe the official non-stream version is stable. I'd stick with that until all the bugs are worked out in the streaming option.

Hi,

When you have software that relies on other systems working as they are meant to then yes you can provide 100% reliability.
But if those systems are not providing what they are meant to 100% of the time with the best will in the world is not possible.

You can use version 1.3.0.37a which has been available for over a year without any issues other than those caused by Betfair's services failing.
This version is available for download from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/downloads.asp

However, we have brought out a new version which incorporates Betfair's new streaming technology which we and Betfair believe is better way of receiving price and order data.
There have been issues with this new version which have mostly been addressed and the problem today with missing price data in some markets was down to Betfair including duplicate data in the data stream and could not have been foreseen.
We have been testing the streaming service for months now and this is the first time that duplicate data has been seen.
This was after Betfair had undergone some maintenance this morning which could just be coincidental.
The point is we have to move forward with the new services and new features and there will inevitably be teething problems.
We want to provide the best software to the best of our ability at the best price.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
