Anyone feeding an external model into their BA triggers?

Postby OliverW42 » Thu Jun 11, 2026 9:50 am

I mostly use Betting Assistant for tennis and a bit of football. Lately I've been trying to make my pre-match selections more systematic instead of just eyeballing the form before the off.

Over the last few months I've been building a small tennis prediction algorithm on the side that outputs a win probability from surface, recent results and head-to-head, and I'm toying with the idea of feeding those probabilities into my triggered sheets so the staking reacts to the model rather than only the market price.

Has anyone here wired an external model into their BA triggers? I'm wondering whether it's worth the hassle of exporting probabilities into Excel versus just trading the market manually. Any war stories welcome.

Should've put this in the original post but the forum won't let me edit it now, so adding it here. For context, the tennis prediction algorithm I mentioned is the one I've been checking my pre-match BA selections against, just so you can see the kind of win-probability output I mean. Still keen to hear how others wire external probabilities into their triggers rather than trading purely off the market.

Yes, that's what the Excel connection is for.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
