Pointspread Explained

Pointspread or Point spread, also known as the ‘handicap’ or ‘line’, is an artificial handicap given towards the underdog. For example, instead of the bet being proposed on the means of the favourite vs. the underdog (a proposal with a biased betting profile), the proposal is changed to the favourite (-1) vs. the underdog (+1), which is a more of a balanced proposal.

This allows an equal number of bets on the each side of the wager, helping the bookmaker to accept wagers on both sides of the spread. Gruss Software can help automate this process and make bet selection easier and more convenient.
