Polling Prices
Use the refresh rate to set how often Betting Assistant requests updated prices from Betfair's API server.
The rate is shown in seconds and the minimum setting is 0.2 seconds i.e. 5 times per second.
Please note that it may not be possible to consistently maintain the very fast refresh rates as outside factors may hold up requests, e.g. poor internet connection, faulty modem, ISP traffic shaping.
The Betfair API itself may become unresponsive which will cause Betting Assistant to appear to be less responsive or even appear to freeze.
The actual rate being achieved is displayed in the Info Bar
Clicking on the figure in the Info Bar will open a chart showing the response times as per the example image below:-
The default chart shows the last minute of response times in milliseconds.
You can drag the horizontal slider on the scroll bar to see previous minutes up to the point where the market was opened.
The software will record up to a maximum of 12,000 API calls per open tab page.
Please note that it's not unusual to see some spikes in the reponse times as that is simply the nature of the internet.
The dark blue line represents the actual refresh time whilst the black line represents the response time of the API call.
The pale blue line represents the response time of the API call including failed timed out calls.
You can right click on this chart and export the chart data to a file.
