The sound alert indicator allows you to decide whether Sound Alerts that are enabled in Preferences should play on the current tab page.

By default the alerts will play and the indicator icon displays , however there is an option in Sound alert Preferences to disable by default.

Click on the icon to disable sounds for that tab page, the icon will change to
